This Ranch Rod design was created over a span of 8 years for a friend of Steve's named JR. Considered a "Character Build," details such as JR's brand, diamond rasps, cowboy boots, ropes, cow heads and horns, and even a spittoon were incorporated into the theme. After installing new hoses and wiring, the mechanics were all in order. For the interior, Steve used denim jeans to cover the seat and the original Dodge tailgate was used as the seat back. Cow horns were installed as shifters and a horseshoe was used in place of a standard gas pedal. Spurs, ropes, gun rack, a cowboy hat holder, and cowhide complete the interior. The wheels and tires were changed out and a large piece of oak found on JR's property was turned into a bumper (AKA hitchin' post). The exterior was pressure washed and brushed to bring out the original red paint. Medium brown highlights give it an aged look and a high gloss clear coat seals the deal.
